Education under threat as Al Khan Al Ahmar School set to be destroyed in the West Bank

July 4 – More than 170 children in the Khan Al Ahmar community in the West Bank are expecting to see their school demolished imminently after bulldozers moved into the village today, sparking protests in which more than 30 people were reportedly injured.

Feelings of depression, hyperactivity, a preference for being alone, and aggression were reported by 95 percent of children in Gaza, new research released by Save the Children has shown.

More than 150 children shot by live ammunition in deadliest day since 2014

Jennifer Moorehead, Save the Children’s Occupied Palestinian Territory Country Director, said:   

"Today is another devastating day for the children of Gaza. At least 13 children have now died since the protests began on March 30. Monday was one of the deadliest days we have seen since the 2014 war, with five children killed and more than 220 children hurt, including more than 150 who were shot by live ammunition, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.

At least 1,000 children injured in Gaza protests as casualties rise in deadliest day yet

The number of child casualties in Gaza since the protests began more than six weeks ago has now passed 1,000 as scores of injured flooded in following one of the most violent days seen so far, Save the Children warns.
